About Akshara

Our Story, Purpose, and Commitment

Akshara, derived from the Sanskrit word for the indivisible essence of knowledge, is an NGO singularly devoted to educating underprivileged children.

We believe education is the cornerstone of empowerment, dismantling barriers of poverty, caste, and geography.

Our Story

A Legacy of Love

Akshara was born from profound personal loss and gratitude. Established in memory of Laxmi Devi, a passionate and loving lady whose life radiated compassion.

Her untimely departure inspired us to formalize this ethos into Akshara, launched in the year 2026.

Our mantra? Giving back to society what society gave to us.

Privileged with education and opportunities, we pledge to extend these opportunities to the marginalized.

In a nation where 10 million children remain out of school (per ASER 2025 reports), Akshara acts decisively, blending grassroots action with scalable innovation.
